How to Create a Menu


Create a menu

You can check out the available header & navigation layouts here, so you can choose one and know which menu locations to select.

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard > Appearance > Menus
  2. Click on Create a new menu
  3. Add a menu name
  4. Select a menu location*
  5. Click on the Create Menu button

Add a menu item

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard > Appearance > Menus
  2. Select a tab from the Add menu items column – you can add pages, posts, custom links or categories (there may be more tabs there, if you have any plugins, like WooCommerce, installed)
  3. Select the menu items you want to add and click on the “Add to Menu” button
  4. Click on the Save Menu button

You can “grab” (click on and hold) the menu items and arrange them any way you want.


Add a drop-down menu

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard > Appearance > Menus
  2. Add the menu items you want to use as subpages
  3. “Grab” (click on and hold) the item and drag it slightly to the right until it sticks and “sub item” appears next to the name
  4. Click on the Save Menu button
